When
I moved out on my own, I paid 85% of my income to rent and walked to work. I have seen the sacrifice it can take
for a new worker to find a job and make ends meet in an economy priced for the already successful, and I will not
forget it if I have the honor of serving you in the General Assembly.
Government intervention can sometimes
protect the disadvantaged during periods of transition, but it was never intended to be a permanent solution. As your
representative, I will strengthen those programs that empower individuals and through tax credits begin to establish a cash
flow that bypasses bureaucracy and lets businesses and individuals support those programs directly.
